History

It's been an absolute pleasure to have created and led all initiatives to establish and improve internal accounting procedures for Area Code 407, a boutique tween girls clothing manufacturer based in Boca Raton, FL. As a high school senior in the Spring of 2016, I was brought onboard to digitize the company's books, and lead the transition from their traditional pen-and-paper record keeping, to an online based accounting platform. This is a standard conversion many businesses go through once they grow too large to manually keep a written ledger, which helps to organize their regular bookkeeping tasks.

Two years later in the summer of 2018, we designed a database-like Excel spreadsheet using relational tables to replace the cookie cutter accounting program we had originally converted to only two years prior. This project was initially prompted because by using a database style spreadsheet rather than a pre-made accounting software, there was much more flexibility on how data had to be entered for production and invoicing- a single point of data entry, and we now had full control on how to handle and manipulate that data to our advantage. In other words, we no longer needed to fit ourselves into a pre-made accounting software. Instead, we structured one that works perfectly to our every need.

Now, we continue working in the same database-style spreadsheet, except it's since been transitioned to Google Sheets to provide Area Code 407 and myself accessibility wherever we may be logging in from. Be it from: in-house where most of production and invoicing takes place, the owner's spouse's off-site office where he may be viewing an A/R Aging Report, or from my dorm room where most if-not-all implementation of these systems have taken place through Facetime.

In the Area Code 407 page are some previews of the personalized system Area Code 407 runs off today, which is fully streamlined and automated from Purchase Order collection, to the creation of Production Sheets, and finally to the Invoicing portion of the seasonal cycle. There are many more responsibilities we handle for Area Code 407, such as creating: price sheets, automated clothing labels, style catalogs, seasonal website updating, private viewing of upcoming styles for vendors, and whatever else it may be that the owner may need help with. Because we're not just here to manage A/R, or keep the books balanced, we're here to help anyway possible.
